Jesus said to them again, "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you." And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained." - Jn 20:21-23

BISHOP’S
APPEAL
The
Appeal continues this week. A very
sincere thanks to everyone who made a pledge or gave an outright gift last
weekend. If you have taken an appeal
envelope home, please return it as soon as possible. We are preparing an appeal mailing this week
in order to contact parishioners who have been away or for whatever reason
could not be present in the church when the envelopes were handed out. Once again we stress how important, how vital
a successful appeal is for our diocese and parish. We count on your generous pledge to meet our
assessment. All are asked to participate
in helping the work of Christ in our area.
Soon we will be able to let you know how the Appeal is doing in our
parish.

This week, the flowers on the altar have been given in memory of Elizabeth D. Chambers by her daughter, Carole Chambers for First Holy Communion and Mothers’ Day.
“500
CLUB” Congratulations to the winner for the week of
5/5/08 #411, Sue Guba!!

Thank
you to
all of our parishioners who supported our Silent Auction last weekend by your
attendance and patron support. It was a wonderful evening of fun and friendship
for all who attended. Thank you to Ken
Kienzle and his committee for all of the hours he and his committee put in to making
the evening a huge success. When we get
the final tote we will let you know.
Openings
are available in our 3 and 4 year old Nursery School Program and K-7. Please call school if you are interested in
enrolling a child or spread the good news to your family and friends.
Sunday, May 25th is the Feast of
Corpus Christi – the Body and Blood of Christ.
Customarily on that day Ministers of the Eucharist are recommissioned
for service in our church for the coming year.
We will do so again this year at all Masses.
We need more ministers! Over the past several years some of our
ministers who have served us faithfully for many years have moved away or
cannot serve because of disability or for other reasons. We have many people attending Mass who could
easily offer to serve. It is not
difficult and is an excellent way of fulfilling, in part, our baptismal call to
serve. Please think about this, and pray
about it. Your assistance is really
needed. The ministers we have are
not many and are scheduled very frequently.
Please let us know by calling the parish office at 489-8197 or by seeing
the pastor at any
As is the case with the Ministers of the
Eucharist, we are in need of more lectors for service at the weekend
Masses. Again, this is not difficult and
is an important part of the liturgy. To
proclaim the Word of God is a privilege, and we have many parishioners who
would be very able to do it. Please
consider participating. Your help would
be greatly appreciated. Call the parish
office of speak to the pastor after any
