Then the angel said to the women in reply, “Do not be
afraid! I know that you are seeking Jesus the crucified. He is not here, for he has been raised just
as he said. Come and see the place where
he lay. Then go quickly and tell his
disciples, ‘He has been raised from the dead, and he is going before you to

Happy Easter
The
Feast of the Resurrection of Christ to eternal life is the most
important event of His life on earth. If
there was no resurrectiton then His whole life, passion, and death would have
been in vain.
Jesus’
resurrection from the dead gives us hope that we too will rise from the dead
and live with Him forever. We celebrate
this hope today with joy, for now our earthly lives have a goal beyond this
world – a goal toward which we strive each day by living the gospel to the
fullest and by loving God and our
neighbor as we love ourselves.
May
this Easter bring you joy, fill your hearts with hope and gratitude to Jesus who
gave His life so that we may live forever.
A very Happy Easter to all.
Easter Flowers
Donations
may still be made toward the cost of the sanctuary flowers for the Easter

From Our School

Early Easter – 2008
Easter
is early this year. Easter is always the
first Sunday after the first full moon after the Spring Equinox (which is March
20th). This dating of Easter
is based on the lunar calendar that Hebrew people used to identify Passover,
which is why it moves around on our Roman calendar.
Based
on the above information, Easter can actually be one day earlier (March 22nd). That is rare.
Here’s
the interesting information. This year
is the earliest Easter any of us will ever see the rest of our lives! And only the most elderly of our population
have ever seen it this early (95 years old or above). And none of us have ever, or will ever, see
it a day earlier! Here’s the facts:
1) The next time Easter will be this early (March 23rd)
will be the year 2228 (220 years from now).
The last time it was this early was 1913 (so if you’re 95 or older, you
are the only ones that were around for that!)
2) The next time it will be a day earlier, March 22nd,
will be the year 2285 (277 years from now).
The last time it was on March 22nd
was 1818. So, no one alive today has or
will ever see it any earlier than this year!
A Family Perspective
by Bud Ozar
Today’s
gospel instructs us Jesus “had
to rise from the dead.” The dying we
experience with unmet expectations in marriage and parenting is normal to
family life. Families must rise above disappointments
and be Easter people all year long.
